Description:

The Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana or Thatch palm) plants are among popular choices, in regards to interior decorations, due to the reason that these are generally well suited for Pot or container growing. They look much similar to coconut palm plants, but with fronds reaching length up to 3m. Kentia Palm aka Howea forsteriana is a species of flowering plant in the palm family Arecaceae. It is a relatively slow-growing plant, eventually and rarely growing up to 10 m tall by 6 m wide. This is an elegant plant, and is popular for growing indoors, requires little light. Out of doors, it prefers a tropical region but could also grow in a cooler climate too. But Don’t expect it to live in a region where the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius. There they perfect plants that could be grown inside home and even outdoor conditions at unstable temperatures.

Kentia Palm (Howea forsteriana) plants are easy to care for and require low maintenance.

These plants prefer mostly partial shade as they love low-light conditions. Water them enough to keep their soil moist, but not wet. The soil on which they are supposed to be grown must be well-drained and sandy with a pH range of around 6.5 to 8. And in terms of ideal temperature, they could tolerate Winter or central heating, but not less than 10 degrees Celsius. And for feeding purposes, Potassium deficiency is most common in these palms and could be noticed when a yellow or brownish frond appears. So, use palm fertilizers, which contain all micronutrients like extra potassium and manganese.
